Church Is Not The Building

Always remember that the church is not the building, it is the people. When God is watching you operate in your vocation as a bishop/pastor, He is not looking as men look at the grandeur of the building you have built. He is looking at how you are building His people. What's the point of having a million dollar building full of five dollar Christians? Let me put it to you in a scriptural way. What is the sense of having a temple made of gold, silver, and precious stones only to have it full of people with the substance of wood, hay, and stubble? What is going to happen when the fiery trials start testing what the people are made of? Don't we realize that we all must be tested by the fire? So if you have a big beautiful edifice packed with wood, hay, and stubble and you know a firestorm is coming, what type of wisdom is that? God is not coming back for buildings, He is coming back for people. Spend less time worrying about the building and concentrate on building people with wisdom that does not burn.
